Order was slow to arrive but came as expected. My 10 year old granddaughter is painting this portrait of their recently deceased beloved basset hound for a Fathers Day gift. Her only issue was the paints were not numbered. And she says painting areas are small. She however is a perfectionist, so I can only envision it as beautiful. Won't see the finished work for a couple more weeks!

It is my first attempt at one of these and on reflection I probably should have chosen a picture with less small detail, however, with a magnifying glass and a good light source it really is great fun to do. I've a long way to go before it's finished but it is coming along beautifully. The canvas and paint are very good quality and easy to use and I will definitely get another in the future.

So far going really great! This is about after 2 2-3 hr sittings. Always start on the side opposite of your dominant hand, in the corners out so you don't brush your arm against any freshly painted areas. Get a good set of brushes other than the 3 you get with kit. Got a 6 pk of decent brushes in the art section of Fred Meyer. REALLY enjoying seeing this come to life!

Shipping did take almost the entire time that was allotted (25 days, I think), but it arrived in good condition. The canvas was a good quality. Some of the paints needed a bit of thinning. Brushes were what I anticipated for "free" brushes, but got the job done. It would have been nice to have a few additional thumbtacks included as they bent easily, but I ended up using an industrial stapler to finish stretching and attaching the canvas to the frame. I had my doubts when I started, but the more I did, the more it started looking like the photo. At an arms length it looks great. Just don't critique it close up. Overall, for the price, it is a sweet, thoughtful gift and slightly cheeky/creepy to paint a pic of yourselves. This was a Valentine's gift for my guy, so we'll find out tomorrow how he feels. Sweet or creepy? Lol.

Item was a personal photo and I found the coloring was off when it was processed. I even went back and compared the original to there's and there was a definite diffrence. With that being said I found the canvas and the paints to be decent and the brushes are ok for a beginner, not a bad deal for the price.

This is the second one I have done. I sent the picture in and I love how it turned out. I got a paper copy the first time which helped a lot when I had to go back and touch up. The second one did not send a paper copy so was much harder

The canvas is great! It really looks like the picture. My only complaint would be about the paint that is sometime too thick and hard too use. I am adding water to it in order to make it easier.

I loved the personalised image of my husband and it certainly was a true likeness. The only problem was the colours sent for his white hair had a green tinge so I had to change the colour myself to a whiter shade.
